People I Have Known

Last updated 1998

This is a strange project, it likely reflects some odd aspect of my personality. Still, it has been on my mind, so off it goes, to the computer.

Very Early Memories
The first person (outside of my family) that I noticed was girl named Pamela in 3rd grade (so was I at the time). I'm not sure I ever actually said anything to her. She had long dark hair and I was entranced. Her family moved away some time later and I never saw her again.

Alan Stevens & Molly Stevens. Friends of the family from church. For many years I was quite nervous around Mr. Stevens. He had a mocking, diamond sharp mind that tolerated no errors in thought. Not an ideal parent IMHO. Mrs. Stevens was very plesant and her families house near Big Basin forest was a joy to visit.

Bruce Hill and Scott Palmer. Next door neighbors. For many years Bruce and Scott were my best friends. We did many things together, joined scouts together, pretended to be the crew of the Starship Enterprise together. Played D&D together. When I went to live in Maryland for a year, followed by college, we drifted apart. Bruce now works in Los Angeles in the movie industry and I see him occasionally at Christmas, Scott, who wanted to be an actor, has disappeared.

New Lewis. Ned lived at the edge of Berkeley, next to Tilden Park. Ned's father was a Professor at Berkeley like my father. We had thing in common. Ned was more of tinkerer than I (he had a short-wave radio). We also joined the same scout troop (Troop 4).

John Kitridge. John was slightly older than us and something of a bully. I was always impressed with his strength and connections in the music industry though I disliked his personality. Still, we went to the same church.
